"Voodoo Bunny"
My photograph "Voodoo Bunny" is a Lumen print that was created through a non traditional printmaking process. This unique process involves capturing an image digitally and then converting the image into a negative using a software editing program such as Lightroom. After the photo is converted, it is then printed on transparency photo paper and is referred to as a digital negative. The digital negative is now able to be placed on photosensitive darkroom paper and inserted into a glass printing board that secures the image. Once secure the negative is placed under UV light and the paper will turn a certain color after it's been sufficiently exposed. The print is then removed and placed in a fixer chemical which alters the color a second time. Following the fixing phase, the image is moved to a container full of water and is washed for a certain amount of time depending on the brand of paper used. It is then place on a drying rack to dry and eventually archived.
